Elon Musk aboard the world's most giant rocket, Starship.

If ever built, the Starship would dwarf any other rocket in existence. It may be the cheapest option for taking off. SpaceX will require customers willing to take advantage of the large cargo capacity, as well as the ability to launch fleets of Starships daily, to reach this goal. SpaceX's Starship spacecraft and Super Heavy rocket are known as Starship. They are reusable transportation systems that carry people and cargo to low-Earth orbit, the Moon, Mars, and beyond. A hundred metric tonnes can be launched into low-Earth orbit using Starship, making it the most powerful launch vehicle ever created.

Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, typically discusses Starship in terms of human exploration: "Make humans a multi-planetary species by building bases on Mars," "Save humanity from extinction," and so on.

Musk said today in response to a tweet regarding the Starship, "A starship will be a fantastic scientific enabler. The push for full reusability and quick production has resulted in a per-kilogram cost rise of an order of magnitude for space travel and beyond. Science does not have to pay for the rocket's fixed costs because the Starlink constellation of the future is the primary customer.
