Twitter is expanding its professional profile options by introducing a new Communities section
Twitter users can now highlight the communities in which they participate by using the new Professional Profile option.
As someone who only checks Twitter once or twice a month, I'm usually a little surprised at how many new features have been introduced to the user interface. Just as I was getting used to professional profiles, the concept of spaces and communities was introduced. Communities, as far as I can tell, are Twitter's answer to Facebook groups, providing a forum where people with similar interests can interact with one another. Most Twitter users are probably aware that a "professional profile" template can be used to make personal accounts resemble those of legitimate businesses. The fact that our work and personal lives have blended so thoroughly is evidenced by social media platforms like Meta, Twitter, and even Snapchat have embraced a business account model. I hope this doesn't pass, but if the hustling culture continues, we'll all drown or die.
This new Twitter feature we're talking about is an exciting addition to the already robust professional profile style, allowing users to showcase a wide range of information about themselves or their small businesses and startups. Communities, a new profile section, gives users a central hub for conducting business-related conversations with colleagues and clients. People with large fan bases who enjoy living together in a virtual community would benefit significantly from this. If people aren't satisfied with subreddits, maybe they'd find what they were searching for in a Twitter community that was either formally established or endorsed.
