Twitter is always looking for new methods to give its users more say over their time spent on the app. The most recent improvement relates to increased anonymity regarding platform mentions.

The user's handle can be reduced to zero by barring them, or the user can restrict themselves to features that allow them to follow people who may or may not mention them.

This might be a huge step forward for those concerned about their safety if and when it is implemented. Similarly, if you dislike it when others include your name in the mentions area, this is for you.

Given that nobody enjoys hearing their name dropped uninvited, we see no reason this won't be a smashing success when it comes. Keep in mind that this is a brand-new addition receiving a lot of interest.
